We gave them only the wings
And they flew on their own.
They reaped a full grown crop
From the seeds that we had sown.
We only said: Rise and Shine
And they realized the dreams
Which were theirs and mine !
Majhi Maitrin is a charitable trust started in the year 2002 by Mrs. Shaila Limaye and her associates. MMCT is one of its kind and it works towards a women's community that is self reliant and employable. This is achieved through training, motivation, formation of co-operatives and the vital entrepreneurial guidance for improvement of their socio-economic life.
It was observed that, women from the unorganised sector in India are socially and economically weak and they need an organisation which would help them find a proper base for work and thus improve their overall living conditions. For a very long time, there was a need for such an organisation that would bring the much needed change in the lives of such women. Mrs. Shaila Limaye and her associates thought that there was no point in waiting for such an organisation to start and instead took the initiative in the year 2002 and Majhi Maitrin was born.
